Man taken into custody following incident in Whalley

Surrey RCMP is informing the public of an ongoing incident in the Whalley area which has led to a road closure on 107A Street.

On March 11, 2020, Surrey RCMP responded to a barricaded man in the supporting housing located in the 13700-block of 107A Street. The Emergency Response Team are on scene in support of Surrey RCMP and police have closed down 107A Street between City Parkway and University Drive.

The public are asked to avoid the area until the matter is concluded.
 

Update: March 11, 2020

Surrey RCMP has taken one man into custody after an incident which occurred on 107A Avenue in Whalley earlier this afternoon.

Road closures in the area will be lifted shortly.
